The way I work

Attention
takes time.

Repeated visits to Qinghai and time at a wildlife conservation station have shaped how I look, listen and work. Photography and documentary are two ways of staying with a subject: one holds a moment; the other lets a story unfold.

My documentary practice draws on observation and natural sound. I’m interested in the lives of animals themselves, and in the everyday work of protecting the places they inhabit.
